Statins and ibuprofen

This basically happened to me. My wife had a hysterectomy at 40 and took Premarin for a number of years which is a form of hormone replacement therapy. It's a fake hormone with side effects and possible health issues so my wife eventually got off that and our sex life went to about zero. I survived a few years taking matters into my own hand so to speak, but it's obviously not the same. Then I went on statins for high cholesterol which resulted in giving me erectile dysfunction. So I stopped the statins but the ED didn't go away. So I investigated what could be done for me and discovered BioIdentical hormones for men and women. They are hormones made from plants with the same chemical makeup as our real hormones. They aren't put out by big Pharmacuticals because you can't patent thIngs that are natural. So I now take testonerone and progesterone and my wife takes estrogen and a small amount of testosterone and our sex lives have returned to normal for us about twice a week. I feel like a man again. Since these are BioIdentical they also have no side effects. Search the web for BioIdentical hormones in your area and get your sex life back again. My wife and I are both 63. Good luck to others in this situation.One more point about statins - they reduce cholesterol which by the way is what your body uses to make testosterone and your other sex hormones so guess why so many in the USA have ED. I stopped taking stains and the FDA and medical folds are slowly changing their thinking on cholesterol - better late than never.

Medical stuff:
Fracture = broken. We have lots of terms to describe the fracture, but a fracture is a break.
People can walk on a broken ankle if they are tough enough to take the pain and the tibia is not where the fracture is.
She would have had an x-ray about a week after the surgery to confirm it was well healing.
Plaster? We more often use water activated fiberglass these days. Less heat as it cures, sets quicker.
Very likely she would have been put in a walking boot.
Advil = Motrin = ibuprofen. Each pill is 200mg, so three were a good choice, four a bit better. Redose after six hours if the pain has returned.

Loved the story - but just as an aside, aspirin actually prevents liver damage. Acetameniphen (Tylenol) is what is traditionally known as dangerous for the liver, and non-aspirin NSAIDs such as ibuprofen have recently been linked to stroke/heart attack risk increase. lol I know this has nothing to do with erotica, and your story is fantastic - but if it were me writing this? (and I do write a ton - I'm actually a professional author), I would have had Jack (the athlete) share his prescription pain killers with his victim, since he's most likely on them (athletes are always getting hurt) and since opiate prescriptions, added Tylenol not withstanding, are the only things that don't increase the risk of liver damage and heart attack/stroke. Plus... let's be honest. They're also the only medications that actually work. And also - it's the very least Jack owes him. ;)

I like your story. Your caveat about discontinuities at the top was way too understated, they were jarring, but I get it. I've been there myself, but please remember to come back and clean up later, you're going to throw a lot of people off.
OK, big problem: Never, ever, ever take Advil and Tylenol together! Ever! Tylenol is Acetaminophen, it's a blood thinner. Advil is Ibuprofen, it's an anti-inflammatory that will also irritate your stomach lining. So between the two, you'll end up with a bleeding ulcer. I think the standard recommendation is to separate them by at least twelve hours, though I just stick to one. So unless you're TRYING to mess Hayley up even worse than she already is (bruised, battered, hung over), PLEASE stick to one or the other.
PS: Yes, this is a pet peeve. Yes, I've personally had a problem with both drugs. Google it if you don't believe me.

When you refer to lifelong I think some more explanation is due. Did you lack the sexual cravings that almost all adolescents have? Did you masturbate before having sexual contact with another person? Not intercourse per se, but kissing, fondling..etc? Have you ever experienced an orgasm, with or without a partner? Does your vagina lubricate when you are exposed to sexual situations? As far as males with low libidos, often that's a result of another underlying physical, or mental anomaly. Please don't scare people, exogenous testosterone creams carry little risk. Most that find themselves in need of these creams are not under forty years of age, and usually older than than that. While I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who has had prostate cancer the risk is minimal. Taking over the counter medications such as Advil, Motrin, which are both ibuprofen, can cause severe kidney damage in large amounts, yet are safe minus pre-existing kidney problems, when taken properly they provide effective and safe relief from pain. The same can be said for exogenous or injected testosterone and estrogen provided it is used correctly. HSDS can, and does come with life changing effects. It has the ability to prevent and kill marriages. So if pharmocological therapy can eliminate or reduce the aforementioned effects, it should be understood that it remains a viable and safe option in the treatment HSDS.

The vitamins, especially high doses of D3, have been making a huge improvement. Two years ago I was told I was too high in D levels, and told to stop, and told I needed to get on this drug and that drug. The American medical model has its place and saves lives, especially in emergency situations, but it also has a lot of limitations. If you don't do what they say, you aren't compliant, and may be dropped as a patient. So I did.
Everyone is different. Otherwise we'd all be clones, and who'd need fiction, because we all would have the same ideas.
Some people take statins without issue. They nearly put me into the ground; still using a cane after two years, and still struggle to catch my breath for a few hours when I get up in the morning. I restarted taking D with my B-complex about three months ago, and I'm able to put aside the cane earlier in the day. And, the past two days, I actually did close to 8 hours of work without coming home and sleeping for 3-4 hours from exhaustion. Even with the migraines and neuro issues, I feel better.
The good news, too, is that writing is easier since I restarted the D3. And, as can be seen by Bard's Tale 2 and 3, my error rate is much lower. Woo-hoo!
Still no reader yet, so I'm contemplating paying someone to give the writing a look-see. He needs the work, and I can spare $20-30. And, he lives next door, so I can bug him about getting it done.
Chapter 17 is rolling along, and I'm about 2/3rds done, based on where I want the story to go. It's already over 100 pages (about 10 on Lit), and hope it will be done within a week or so (so yes, expecting it to finish out around 140-160 pages). And, some questions about the ruling family will hopefully be answered. And some resolutions, too.
For those still hanging on, I am plugging away. Really, I am. Heading back right now to write. Honest. Well, maybe after a little Starcraft I to unwind after work first. It's Friday night. But no sleep tonight afterward, because sometimes I wake up thinking about the story. Like I did this morning. Hmm. Does a Muse torment a writer for a-muse-ment? After this one is done, I'll write the next Bard's Tale, including a visit to Motorcycle Mama's Grilled Cheese and Coffee House, and then back for Ch 18.
